Review Highlights
Atlanta Breakfast Club is a popular brunch spot in downtown Atlanta. Keith Lee visited fresh off the plane as his first stop of the Atlanta trip, ordering for a group of five adults and two kids — spending $144.60 in total. The restaurant operates with strict house rules: no orders until the full party is seated, one order for the whole table, and no add-ons afterward — which Keith noted as unusual, though he found the staff genuinely nice throughout.
- ·French toast with peach cobbler — whole grain bread with a peach topping and shortcake-style finish; egg wash absorbed into roughly 10% of the bread, leaving the rest plain; "it's all right — you can see what the French toast dipping absorb into the bread, the rest of it is just bread"; 6/10
- ·Breakfast bowl — eggs, bacon, potatoes, and cheese; "everything is seasoned well — it's a very basic breakfast, but basic is easy to mess up and they don't"; 7.5/10
- ·Biscuit — buttery and salty but dry; served without jelly, with butter available as a $1 add-on; "it's a good biscuit, I just can't swallow it" — Keith's frustration was less with the biscuit itself and more with charging extra for butter at a breakfast spot
- ·Summer croquette with salmon and grits — served with remoulade sauce; salmon lightly seasoned on its own, but elevated by the sauce; grits described as "buttery, salty and thick"; "this is my favorite thing for the first stop in Atlanta"; 7.8/10
Keith's verdict: solid but unspectacular for a first Atlanta stop. The summer croquette with grits was the standout at 7.8/10, and the breakfast bowl held up well at 7.5. The French toast underdelivered. The strict ordering rules — no water, no add-ons, everyone must be seated before anything is taken — were the most memorable part of the experience, alongside a $1 charge for butter. "Very interesting" was how he summed up the customer service. He left the trip opener curious rather than impressed, saying: "I'm very interested to see what the rest of this trip holds."
