Review Highlights

Ikoyi is a two-Michelin-star West African-inspired restaurant in Temple, London, and one of the city's most singular dining experiences. Alexander The Guest visited for the full 14-course tasting menu at €420 per person, guided by Chef Jeremy Chan — who trained at Noma and Dinner by Heston Blumenthal before opening Ikoyi in 2017.

  • ·Langoustine and liquorice tartlet — paper-thin shell with langoustine warmed in preserved elderflower; "lovely sweet, almost honey-like flavours"
  • ·Saffron and mussel crème caramel — with N25 Kaluga caviar and razor clams; "S tier for sure"
  • ·Scallop fudge — brûléed scallop skirt with brown crab bisque; "unbelievably deep, rich, complex flavours... almost like a Nutella for adults"
  • ·Smoked jollof rice — the restaurant's signature, served alongside glazed Angus beef with fermented vegetable glaze

Alexander's verdict: bold, playful, and genuinely unlike anything else in London — "I discovered tastes I've never had before and would gladly have again." He noted the portions are unusually generous for this level of dining, and strongly recommends the sake pairing over wine for the second half of the menu.
